Satisfaction and a sense of achievement is what I felt when I held a copy of my publication for the first time. Family history writing is like that. After many years of research that ramped up towards the end, the compilation was complete. Thanks, in part goes to the 150 plus members of our Facebook group that shared the process and contributed stories. One hundred copies sold and in the post just in time for Christmas 2016. Awesome effort by Australia Post and Pack N Send in Lonsdale to reach all the destinations across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia from my local in Hallett Cove, South Australia.
I could not have gathered the research material for my family history writing without Ancestry and Trove. I can’t stress enough how important they are. The book itself looks fabulous thanks to graphic design by Jenny at Flutterflies Design and the printing team at AllBIZ Supplies, Lonsdale. For anyone contemplating family history writing I highly recommend you give it go and if you need any help or advice just contact me at Thornetree Genealogy.
